Symptoms of a disengaged worker can include minimal output, slow pace of work, lack of interest in their job, and withdrawal from team-building activities. In more extreme cases, quiet quitters are using company time to work on a side hustle or even another full-time remote job. According to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employee productivity in 2022 fell by 2.4% since the previous year - the steepest annual drop since 1948. Much of this is due to the phenomenon of quiet quitting.
